“Dump truck with trolley assist system”
Gohar Sanat Company, in its future development plan, intends to design and manufacture a trolley-assist dump truck equipped with a sustainable energy system to reduce fuel consumption and air pollution in transportation while increasing efficiency. The following research outlines the advantages and disadvantages of this initiative.
Given the rising trend of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change, protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gas production has become critically important. One of the most effective approaches in this regard is lowering fossil fuel consumption and making greater use of clean energy sources to reduce air pollution and safeguard the environment.
The diesel system in dump trucks is one of the major consumers of fossil fuels, leading to the emission of various pollutants such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter. In contrast, the trolley system, which uses electricity as its primary energy source, is introduced as a clean and sustainable solution. By converting dump trucks to trolley-assist systems, fuel consumption and pollutant emissions can be significantly reduced, while production efficiency can be enhanced. Moreover, adopting trolley-assist technology in dump trucks can directly contribute to reducing fuel costs for factories and other industries.
This system has a history of 30 to 40 years and has been applied in South Africa. Essentially, it relies on overhead electric lines to supply power to the electronic drive system of the dump truck, thereby increasing drive power. For instance, while a diesel engine may deliver around 2,700 horsepower…
