Gohar Sanat Company, in line with the refurbishment (optimization, overhaul, and localization) of 150-ton American TEREX MT3300-AC dump trucks, has been conducting comprehensive monitoring of the status and changes in electrical signals and mechanical components, along with data analysis, since late 2021 (late 1400 in the Persian calendar).
Considering the technological level of these systems and the lack of necessary infrastructure for refurbishment and localization at the national level, Gohar Sanat consolidated its engineering expertise, academic specialists, and capable domestic industries, forming a dedicated task force to initiate the refurbishment of the 150-ton dump trucks.
During this period, the company has successfully optimized and returned eight dump trucks to operational service, transporting over twelve million tons of mineral materials to date. The repair and commissioning of the eight 150-ton dump trucks, after equipping the workshop, were executed in three main phases:
Phase 1 – Complete disassembly of all strategic dump truck assemblies, including the dump body, tractions, diesel engine, generator, suspension system, drives, hydraulic system, chassis, operator cabin, etc., to identify and analyze the logical relationships among all subsystems for refurbishment purposes.
Phase 2 – Optimization and refurbishment of the disassembled systems were carried out as follows:
-
Refurbishment of high-voltage electrical systems, panels, and related components according to domestically available parts.
-
Overhaul of traction motors, traction alternator, and retarder system.
-
Major repair of the MTU4000 12V DDC diesel engine and localization of high-tech components such as the ECU.
