Vibration Analysis of Car Rims (Modal Analysis)
Author: Abolfazl Mahyapour lori (Engineering and Design Expert)
This paper consists of two main sections. The first section
discusses the design of a Sport aluminum rim in CATIA software. In contrast,
the second section covers the vibration analysis and calculation of natural
frequencies of three different rims, comparing the results of these analyses. Given
the large number of rims available in the market, one of the rims manufactured
by Arvand Co. was selected, and the design process of this particular rim in
CATIA software is explained. It is worth mentioning that rim design involves a
lot of details, and the text related to the rim design in CATIA is presented in
a way that is comprehensible and avoids confusion. This approach is also
maintained in the second section, which deals with the vibration analysis of
the rim in CATIA so that individuals with intermediate familiarity with CATIA
can easily design and analyze a rim within CATIA environments. The results of
the modal analysis are ultimately provided.
